The Taydeus Vanquishing Spell is a spell that was created to vanquish the upper level demon, Taydeus. It can only be cast with the Power of Three.

History[]

In "Pilot", the Vera-Vaughn Charmed Ones used this spell to vanquish the demon who they believed killed their mother. Since it required the Power of Three to work, the girls had to accept their destiny as witches in order to use it. While the spell worked, the effect was slow and the demon collapsed to the floor. Before dying, he taunted them briefly and confirmed that he did not kill their mother. A few moments later, the demon's body finally exploded which caused the sisters to jump to Harry Greenwood's amusement.

Incantation[]

Timor tuus, fortitude tua feminae, ultimum exitium.
Translation
Your fear, a woman's strength, your ultimate destruction.

Trivia[]

  • This was the first spell that Macy Vaughn, Mel and Maggie Vera used that required the Power of Three which caused them to fully accept their destiny as witches and in turn confirmed their status as the Charmed Ones.
  • It can be presumed that the entry in the Book of Shadows was written by Marisol Vera, as she had foreseen her daughters' many struggles.
  • The Latin incantation of this spell has some mistakes.
    • The word "fortitude" is not a Latin word, the correct word would be "fortitudo".
    • The word "tua", which means "your", is placed in the wrong order, as in the current incantation it would translate as "your woman", while the word "your" should be placed at the last part of the sentence to indicate whose "ultimate destruction" it is that the spell is referring to. And as "ultimum exitium" is neuter the word "your" should be placed accordingly, as "tuum".
    • Ultimately, the correct version would be: "Timor tuus, fortitudo feminae (or feminarum), tuum ultimum exitium", which accurately translates to: "Your fear, a woman's (or women's) strength, your ultimate destruction."
